Ah! My Goddess Manga/Oh My Goddess! Manga
ああっ女神さまっVolume 37 Chapter 234
Summary/Synopsis: Chrono, Keiichi, and Belldandy walk through the streets of the city, where Chrono is amazed by it all. They happen upon Ootaki and Tamiya, who are working a construction site with jackhammers and acting very odd about their enthusiasm for the job. Belldandy detects the rhythm of the jackhammers and determines it to be a fragment of the Note Tuner Renewal program. She and Chrono then extract it. This causes Ootaki and Tamiya to stop work because the jackhammer rhythm is no longer there. The site foreman sees them slacking and decides they need to be taught a lesson.
After Belldandy explains about the noises of the world, Risa-chan arrives on her training-wheels bicycle and greets “Bell-mama.” Because of the noises her bicycle is making, Belldandy and Chrono detect another program fragment and extract it for Belldandy to process. However, there are some problems in the extraction as they don’t tune up with each other right away. Leaving a puzzled Risa-chan, the trio continue their search with Chrono sining a tune cheerfully. However, Belldandy and Keiichi find her to not sound good even though she has just stated her singing often gets her compliments.
Thoughts/Review: Hmmm. I guess this was a way for Fujishima-sensei to be clever by half and put in an image to suggest a little yuri action between Belldandy and Chrono even though none is there. However, I’m willing to bet that if I did some cruising of certain Japanese blogs and image boards, I’d find Chrono and Belldandy extracted from this page, where their clothing would then be photoshopped off. No, I’m not going to look.
Its usually nice to see Ootaki and Tamiya in the manga and this time was no exception. Risa-chan’s arrival was completely unexpected. Talk about characters who have a one-shot entrance as a joke EARLY in the manga (so that she can say “Bell-mama” and cause Ootaki and Tamiya to tease Keiichi about it). Ah, I remember those good old days where Urd rigged her version of the Game of Life which resulted in Belldandy winning and kissing Keiichi as her prize. That’s like another lifetime ago.
Anyway, I guess the story is now shifting into the crisis point with Chrono going off tune. Ooo! Scary stuff. ^_~
